Random Access Memory or RAM is a place on your computer that temporarily keeps data. Modern RAM is usually 1GB or 512MB in capacity.

The first RAMs are little chips that are about 32KB in size. They were small because the PCs used the Command Line Interface at that time.

In the 1980's, there were a lot of variety of RAMs (from 64KB to about 1MB in size).

During the 1990's, RAM started to get bigger (from 128MB to 512MB in size).

OS SpecsEdit

  • Windows 3.0/3.1/3.11→128MB
  • Windows 9x (95 and 98/98SE)→128MB

Since Windows XP, all computers are made with at least 256MB of RAM inside.
