Microsoft Quick BASIC was Microsoft's major BASIC Compiler for MS-DOS. Like its little brother, QBASIC, Quick BASIC had a built-in interpreter and GUI. Quick BASIC had nmake, a library tool, and BC included. Having make allowed programmers to break up their source could without using CALL statements or SHELL statements. Due to the ability to compile libraries, Quick Basic included a '$Include statement.

Versions of QBASIC:

  • Quick BASIC 1.0
  • Quick BASIC 4.0
  • Quick Basic 4.5
  • Quick Basic Extended 7.0
